Polarization‐Dependent 3D Holography Generated by Inverse Design Nanoprinting Metasurface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel polarization‐dependent 3D holography is proposed by introducing polarization as an additional freedom, enabling enhanced depth selectivity and greater control over holographic reconstruction. The efforts perfectly combine the polarization and 3D holography display into ADAM gradient descent algorithm, the application of nanoprinting further ...

Enhancing thermal properties of asphalt materials for heat storage and transfer applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The paper considers extending the role of asphalt concrete pavements to become solar heat collectors and storage systems. The majority of the construction cost is already procured for such pavements and only marginal additional costs are likely to be ...

Critical Limitations in Cryogenic Laser Cooling of Solids: Symmetry‐Related Fluorescence Trapping and Condensation‐Induced Parasitic Heating

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers two overlooked bottlenecks in cryogenic laser cooling of solids: symmetry‐driven fluorescence trapping and water vapor condensation. We demonstrate that breaking sample symmetry enhances fluorescence escape, while condensation dominates parasitic heating below 135 K.

Scrambling‐Enhanced Quantum Battery Charging in Black Hole Analogues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By employing a black‐hole‐analog quantum battery constructed from a position‐dependent XY model, its dynamical behavior is investigated through a quench of the scrambling parameter. It is systematically quantified that how the simulated scrambling improves key performance metrics‐namely, stored energy, peak power, and charging time‐thereby offering a ...

Advancing Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation and Strategic Management Through Nondestructive Testing at Toll Stations

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In contrast to maintaining asphalt pavements, maintaining healthy and functional concrete pavements is a much greater challenge due to the especially brittle nature of concrete, which may require a more complex rehabilitation plan.
