Interface strength of High-Strength concrete to Ultra-High-Performance concrete

Engineering Structures, 2022
Abstract High-Strength Concrete (HSC) has been used in the production of precast concrete structures while Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) has been considered an option for filling the connection between HSC elements due to outstanding mechanical properties and durability.

Concrete and Fiber Concrete Impact Strength

Materials Science Forum, 2020
The results of experimental studies of the impact strength of samples of concrete and steel fiber concrete are presented. For dispersed reinforcement, three types of steel fiber were used - with bent ends, wave and flattened. Tests were conducted to determine the static and dynamic bending strength, and then - impact tests on the pendulum headstock MK ...

Strength Classes of Concrete versus Strength Classes of Fibre Concrete

Solid State Phenomena, 2016
Basic characteristics of each produced concrete and fibre reinforced concrete are characterized by the compression strength recorded by the standard sets of tests performed on cylinders and cubes. In addition, for the fibre reinforced concrete, the characteristic tensile strength at formation of microcracks and cracks of standard widths is required ...

Creep of high–strength concrete and normal–strength concrete

Magazine of Concrete Research, 1991
The development and use of high–strength concrete has been evolutionary. High–strength concrete is used for tall buildings, bridges, long–span structures and offshore platforms. Very little information is available on the creep of high–strength concrete compared with that of normal concrete at room and low temperatures.

Testing High-Strength Concrete Compressive Strength

ACI Materials Journal, 1993
Comparative testing reveals that high strength concrete (HSC) compressive strength values are greater by 5% when measured on 100 x 200 mm specimens. Moreover, the coefficient of variation on one set of three 100 x 200 mm specimens is as small as, or smaller than that for 150 x 300 mm specimens.

Dynamic strength of concrete

Hydrotechnical Construction, 1994
Recommendations for evaluating the dynamic strength of concrete structures at hydroelectric power stations are given. Both existing and planned structures are addressed. Equations are provided for determing the design compressive and tensile strength of concrete.

Anisotropic Concrete Compressive Strength

IABSE Reports, 2017
<p>When the load carrying capacity of existing concrete structures is (re-)assessed it is often based on compressive strength of cores drilled out from the structure. Existing studies show that the core compressive strength is anisotropic; i.e.

Core Strengths of High-Strength Concrete

"SP-172: High-Performance Concrete - Proceedings: ACI International Conference, Malaysia 1997", 1999
The effects of varying L/D ratios and core size on the strength of cores from large elements of high strength concrete (HSC) made both in the laboratory and field were examined. 154 cores representing 5 laboratory mixtures having moist-cured cylinder compressive strengths from 114 to 142 MPa at 5-years age and 101 cores representing actual field ...
