From Tiles to Worksheet: Exploring Concreteness Fading in Learning Vector Addition
Teaching vector addition seems challenging in secondary-level mathematics education. Vector addition requires both geometric and algebraic understandings, and the overreliance on abstract representations causes students difficulties in learning this ...

Psycholinguistic Correlates of Symbol Grounding in Dictionaries
A dictionary can be represented as a directed graph with links from defining to defined words. The minimal feedback vertex sets (MinSets, Ms) of a dictionary graph are the smallest sets of words from which all the rest can be defined.

Memory for Emotionally Provocative Words in Alexithymia: A Role for Stimulus Relevance [PDF]
Alexithymia is associated with emotion processing deficits, particularly for negative emotional information. However, also common are a high prevalence of somatic symptoms and the perception of somatic sensations as distressing.

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

Systematic Exploration of 3D Concrete Printing Parameters for Conformal Printing on Sloped Surfaces
A conformal slicing algorithm is developed for robotic 3D concrete printing (3DCP) on sloped surfaces as a first step toward printing slab‐on‐grade foundations on uneven terrain. Systematic experiments quantify the effects of nozzle speed, extrusion rate, and toolpath direction on filament dimension and stability.

We introduce AutomataGPT, a generative pretrained transformer (GPT) trained on synthetic spatiotemporal data from 2D cellular automata to learn symbolic rules. Demonstrating strong performance on both forward and inverse tasks, AutomataGPT establishes a scalable, domain‐agnostic framework for interpretable modeling, paving the way for future ...

Ontological Dependence, Spatial Location, and Part Structure [PDF]
This paper discusses attributively limited concrete objects such as disturbances (holes, folds, scratches etc), tropes, and attitudinal objects, which lack the sort of spatial location or part structures expected of them as concrete objects.

Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor with limited treatment options and a terrible prognosis. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the recent development of osteoimmunomodulatory implants for post‐operative osteosarcoma treatment, of which the potential utility in evoking durable anti‐osteosarcoma immunity and accelerating bone

Helix Alignment, Chevrons, and Edge Dislocations in Twist‐Bend Ferroelectric Nematics
The recently discovered twist‐bend ferroelectric nematic (NTBF) is the new member of the multiferroic family, representing a fluid with an oblique helicoidal (heliconical) periodic structure of spontaneous electric polarization. The work presents a thorough exploration of the material properties of this phase, how the periodic modulation of ...
