A MPTCP Scheduler Combined With Congestion Control for Short Flow Delivery in Signal Transmission

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Multipath TCP (MPTCP) benefits the signals transmission during the progress of array signal processing, since it can provide higher aggregated bandwidth and reliable link connection with the existence of backup paths.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

HTTP/3 vs HTTP/2: A Comparative Analysis of Latency and Throughput in RESTful API Transactions Under Varying Concurrency, Payload, and Degraded Network Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Informatics and Computing
This research empirically compares the performance of RESTful APIs based on HTTP/3 (quic-go) and HTTP/2 (Go standard library with TLS 1.3) under varying workload and network conditions.

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Serverless Cold Start Performance Optimization Based on Multi-Request Processing and Adaptive Hierarchical Scaling

open access: yesIEEE Access
Serverless has gained significant attention due to its advantages of high elasticity, low cost, and reduced operational overhead. However, the cold start problem severely constrains its performance and user experience.

Concurrency Control in Transactional Drago [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The granularity of concurrency control has a big impact on the performance of transactional systems. Concurrency control granularity and data granularity (data size) are usually the same. The effect of this coupling is that if a coarse granularity is used, the overhead of data access (number of disk accesses) is reduced, but also the degree of ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.
