Intratumoral Fusobacterium nucleatum Drives Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Enrichment and Immune Exclusion in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Fusobacterium nucleatum contributes to the progression of ESCC by inducing NF‐κB–mediated inflammatory signaling in tumor cells and promoting CAFs activation. Its presence may facilitate immune exclusion and tumor invasion through stromal remodeling. Furthermore, F.

Evaluation value of combined detection of four serological indicators for the effect of concurrent chemoradiotherapy in cervical cancer

open access: yesZhongguo linchuang yanjiu
Objective To explore the predictive value of combined detection of serum suppressor of cytokine signal 1 (SOCS1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCCA), and thymidine kinase 1 (TK1) for clinical efficacy in cervical ...

Prognostic value of PD-L1 expression on tumor cells combined with CD8+ TIL density in patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
BACKGROUND/AIM:mmune checkpoint inhibition (CPI) has an increasing impact in the multimodal treatment of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC). Increasing evidence suggests treatment outcome depending on tumor cell PD-L1 expression.

Induction S-1+Concurrent Radiotherapy Followed by Surgical Resection of Locally Advanced Non-small-cell Lung Cancer in an Elderly Patient [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present the case of a 77-year-old Japanese man diagnosed with lung squamous cell carcinoma with mediastinal lymph node metastasis. He was treated with induction chemoradiotherapy for T1bN2M0 stage IIIA disease.

Impact of Renin‐Angiotensin System Inhibitors on Renal Function During Temporary Ileostomy Period in Rectal Cancer Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This retrospective study explored the potential impact of renin–angiotensin system inhibitors (RASIs) on renal function during the ileostomy period in patients undergoing rectal cancer surgery. RASI use was associated with early postoperative renal impairment, and relatively slow recovery of renal function was observed until stoma closure.

A Randomized study on the Effects of Paclitaxel Liposme and Cisplatin Induction Chemotherapy Followed Concurrent Chemoradiotherapy and Sequential Radiotherapy on Locally Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Patients

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2011
Background and objective Sequential and concurrent chemoradiotherapy were widely studied in locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but the reports of induction chemotherapy followed concurrent chemoradiotherapy are rare so far.

A phase II study of induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy in elderly patients with locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The optimal management of unresectable locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer in older patients has not been defined to date. The present phase II study was planned to evaluate the activity and safety of platinum-based induction chemotherapy ...

Impact of Body Weight Loss During Preoperative Chemoradiotherapy on Prognosis of Patients With Lower Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between changes in body weight and composition during chemoradiotherapy, such as the psoas muscle mass index, visceral fat index, and subcutaneous fat index obtained from computed tomography images, and long‐term outcomes in rectal cancer patients.
