A Programmable, 3D Neuron‐On‐Chip Platform Integrating Near Real‐Time Biosensing and Multiaxial Loading for Mechanobiological Injury Profiling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 2, 9 January 2026.
A programmable 3D Neuron‐Injury‐on‐a‐Chip platform integrates multiaxial mechanical loading with ultrasensitive electrochemical biosensing to decode neuronal responses in real time. By mimicking physiologically relevant extension–torsion forces, the system reveals load‐specific biomarker trajectories (T‐Tau, NFL), gene regulation, and apoptosis.

CTE neuropathology alone is associated with dementia and cognitive symptoms

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION This studyexamined the independent contribution of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) neuropathology to symptoms. METHODS The sample included 614 brain donors with (n = 366) and without (n = 248) autopsy‐confirmed CTE. Brain donors with other major neurodegenerative disease diagnoses were excluded.

Cognitive data harmonization in the ADRC Network and beyond—Past, present, and future

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract The National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) Uniform Data Set (UDS) includes extensive cognitive data contributed by Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers (ADRCs) since 2005. The UDS has evolved over time and is on its fourth iteration.

Neuroimaging markers and cognition in cognitively unimpaired older Latinos from the Harvard Aging Brain Study

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Research examining Alzheimer's disease (AD) neuroimaging markers of brain pathology and cognition in older Latino adults remains limited. We compared neuroimaging and cognitive profiles between cognitively unimpaired older Latino and non‐Latino adults from the greater Boston area.
