A Novel NLRP3 Inhibitor AMS‐17 Rescues Deficits in Long‐Term Potentiation Following Mild Traumatic Brain Injury in Adult C57Bl/6 Mice

open access: yesHippocampus, Volume 36, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of long‐term disability, with limited effective treatment options. A key factor of TBI pathophysiology is neuroinflammation, which can involve the activation of the nucleotide‐binding domain leucine‐rich repeat protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome. Aberrant inflammation following injury has the ability

Application of the augmented competing stimulus assessment to identify and establish competing self‐restraint items

open access: yesJournal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Volume 59, Issue 1, Winter 2026.
Abstract Automatically maintained self‐injurious behavior (SIB) sometimes co‐occurs with self‐restraint, a self‐limiting behavior that impedes SIB and can be maladaptive (e.g., hinders functional skills and movement). The presence of self‐restraint suggests SIB produces aversive consequences, which self‐restraint limits.

Facilitators and Barriers of Relatives' Involvement in Care of Patients With Acquired Brain Injury or Malignant Brain Tumour: Scoping Review

open access: yesNursing Open, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To identify and map the breadth of available evidence on nurses' perspectives of the facilitators and barriers to relatives' involvement in the care continuum of patients with acquired brain injury or malignant brain tumour. Associations among aerobic physical activity, mild traumatic brain injury history, and health‐related quality of life in military service members and Veterans: A LIMBIC‐CENC study

open access: yesPM&R, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 33-43, January 2026.
Abstract Background Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is common among military service members. Moderate‐to‐vigorous aerobic exercise (MVAE) is a modifiable behavior with potential benefits for individuals following mTBI but is poorly understood for long‐term mTBI health.
