Anisotropic magnetocaloric effect in Fe3−x GeTe2
We present a comprehensive study on anisotropic magnetocaloric porperties of the van der Waals weak-itinerant ferromagnet Fe3−x GeTe2 that features gate-tunable room-temperature ferromagnetism in few-layer device.

Gapless Superconductivity From Extremely Dilute Magnetic Disorder in 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx
We demonstrate that 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx hosts gapless superconductivity at unexpectedly low magnetic impurity concentrations. Combining STM, Bogoliubovde Gennes simulations, DFT, and quasiparticle interference, we comprehensively study the development of gapless behavior and show that SeS substitution reshapes the band structure, enhances nesting, and drives ...

Monodisperse elastic shells: a 3D study of jammed granular matter and microencapsulation
This thesis focusses on two, admittedly rather different, applications of spherical elastic shells. First in the field of microencapsulation as a smart container to encapsulate and release functional materials.

We demonstrate a neuromorphic synapse in 2D Fe3GaTe2 flakes. The device operates via a current‐driven transformation from a skyrmion‐lattice to a stripe‐domain state, yielding a linear anomalous Hall resistance response with a tunable slope to enable multiply‐accumulate operations. Simulations confirm its viability in artificial neural networks.

Raman polarization switching in CrSBr
Semiconducting CrSBr is a layered A-type antiferromagnet, with individual layers antiferromagnetically coupled along the stacking direction. Due to its unique orthorhombic crystal structure, CrSBr exhibits highly anisotropic mechanical and optoelectronic

Signatures of Edge States in Antiferromagnetic Van der Waals Josephson Junctions
ABSTRACT The combination of superconductivity and magnetic textures leads to unconventional superconducting phenomena, including new correlated and topological phases. Van der Waals (vdW) materials emerge as a versatile platform for exploring the interplay between these two competing orders.
