Disordered ultracold quantum gases [PDF]
Localisation in condensed matter physics is one of the pillars of understanding the transport properties of materials, like conductivity in solids. In this thesis, we explore Anderson localisation of a Fermi gas in a 2D disordered media of point-like ...

Superfluid fraction of interacting bosonic gases
The superfluid fraction $f$ of a quantum fluid is defined in terms of the response of the system to a weak and constant drag. Notably, Leggett long ago derived two simple expressions providing a rigorous upper bound and a heuristic lower bound for $f ...

Tuning the Magnetic Phase Transitions in TbMn2‐xTixSi2 (x = 0–0.3)
ABSTRACT Magnetocaloric materials receive considerable attention as promising candidates for next‐generation energy‐efficient and environmentally benign solid‐state refrigeration technologies. These materials exhibit the magnetocaloric effect (MCE), whereby heat is absorbed or released upon the application or removal of a magnetic field. In this study,

Surface Charges Guided Quasi‐TEM‐mode Microwave Propagation along Dielectric Nanowire
According to Maxwell's equations, a single‐conductor transmission line cannot allow TEM‐mode electromagnetic wave propagation, however, this is based upon the assumption that dielectric material is isolated from the environment. In practice, surface electrostatic charges widely existed in nano‐materials with large surface‐to‐volume ratio.

Long‐Range Interactions in Topological Superconducting Systems: A Mini Review
Long‐range interacting quantum systems are surveyed in this review, with an emphasis on the long‐range topological superconductor and its variants. Long‐range interactions decaying in a power‐law manner can lead to exotic phenomena that finds no analogue in short‐range regimes.

Guiding and Manipulating Light Fields in Microstructured Liquid Crystals
This review summarizes recent advances in guided‐wave optics enabled by microstructured liquid crystal (LC) devices, covering their fundamental material properties, key degree of freedom for dynamic light field manipulations. The advances of linear guided‐wave optics, nonlinear‐optics with spatial optical solitons, and microlasers in LC‐based devices ...

An Advanced Epitaxial Strategy Enabling Vertical GaN Devices on Silicon Wafers
A universal epitaxial strategy overcomes the long‐standing limitation of insulating buffers in GaN‐on‐Silicon technology. By exploiting a unique amorphous‐like interlayer (AL‐IL) formed via ultrathin metal pre‐deposition, high‐quality GaN films with excellent vertical conductivity are realized on silicon wafers.

This study employs density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the structural, mechanical, electronic, optical, and thermodynamic properties of RbGaO2 and CsGaO2. The calculated band structures and band‐edge positions indicate semiconducting behavior and favorable alignment for photocatalytic dye degradation and hydrogen evolution, highlighting ...

Recent strategies address these challenges through ion‐specific regulation, encompassing chloride‐tolerant and chloride‐regulating anodes together with cathode designs that suppress OH− accumulation and Mg2+/Ca2+ coupling. This ion‐management‐oriented framework provides general guidelines for achieving stable, selective, and scalable seawater ...
