ABSTRACT The phase diagram of the GeO2–CaO system was investigated using differential thermal–thermogravimetric analysis and the equilibration–quenching technique, followed by electron probe microanalysis and X‐ray diffraction. The Ca2Ge7O16 compound was confirmed to be stable, and a eutectic reaction of L → GeO2(hex) + Ca2Ge7O16 was identified in the ...

Water‐Splitting “Without Water”: Splitting of the Crystallised Water of Hydrated Salts
Unlike liquid water, the structural and molecular properties of water molecules embedded in hydrated salts are subject to strong influences and vary little. This makes them potential candidates for the water splitting reaction. Here, we present the first example of the electrochemical decomposition of crystallised water.

Cryogenic Carbon Monoxide Oxidation on Cuprous Oxide
A reconstructed Cu2O surface with pyramidal units (PY) contains both adsorption and reaction sites for CO oxidation. A suite of spectroscopy techniques and calculations were used to characterize the fundamental surface chemistry occurring below 100 K, where typically a metal/oxide interface is required.

Cluster Formation and Phase Transitions Induced by Vibrational Strong Coupling
Non ‐ resonant Rayleigh scattering reveals that vibrational strong coupling induces clustering and phase transitions in liquids that undergo well defined transitions with temperature and solvent composition. Abstract Vibrational strong coupling (VSC) has been shown to significantly modify the chemical and physical properties of molecules and materials.

Spectroscopic Fingerprinting of Coordination‐driven Spin States in Metal‐organic Architectures
Coordination geometry controls spin states in Co‐TCNQ frameworks. Combined theory and XAS confirm the high‐spin Co2+ on graphene and establish a direct approach for spin‐state assignment in metal‐organic systems. ABSTRACT Determining the local geometry of metal‐organic architecture on substrates is challenging, as substrate interactions can alter the ...
