Polypept(o)ide‐Based Core–Shell Bottlebrush Polymers: A Versatile Platform for Drug Encapsulation

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
This study developed polypept(o)ide‐based core–shell brushes (CSBs) with tunable sizes (Rh: 17–70 nm) for hydrophobic drug delivery. CSBs achieved 10% dasatinib loading through π–π interactions, enabling sustained release over 72 h. Notably, CSB‐dasatinib complexes showed comparable cell viability reduction to the free drug in U‐87 MG cells ...

The performance of a self‐adherent foil system for the corrosion protection of steel substrates for offshore wind tower structures

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
The application of multilayer organic protective coating systems with conventional liquid spray methods is complex, time‐ and energy‐consuming, and it requires extensive technical equipment. An alternative to these methods is the application of thin, self‐adherent foil systems directly to the steel substrate.

Results of a Round Robin Test for the Determination of Polarization Resistances on Differently Weathered Zinc Samples Using Gel Electrolytes

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
Whether a top layer of corrosion products on zinc or galvanized steel protects the metal from further corrosion can be determined by measuring the electrochemical corrosion product layer resistance using an agar gel as the test electrolyte. The test standard DIN 50023:2024‐07 has recently been published.
