Why does statistical mechanics 'work' in condensed matter?
Uspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 2021Abstract The reasons behind the possibility of using the Gibbs distribution in condensed matter are considered. While the basics of statistical mechanics in gases are covered in great detail in many textbooks and reviews, the reasons for using the Gibbs distribution in crystals, glasses, and liquids are rarely considered.

Transport theory and the founding of condensed matter physics
Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2023In 1966, Woon Siong Gan coined and invented the name transport theory in condensed matter physics. Today, transport theory is the backbone theory of condensed matter physics and the whole condensed matter physics can be represented by transport theory ...

On some rigorous results in condensed matter theory
Vestnik NovSU, 2023The work contains a critical analysis of the methods and results currently used and applied in the theory of condensed matter. A unified mathematical apparatus has been developed - the method of functional integration which is equally applicable to all ...
