Cu and Cu‐30Ni Alloy as Anti‐Viral Materials for High‐Touch Surfaces: Efficacy in a Simulated Public Environment with Frequent Cleaning Practices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study evaluates the antiviral efficacy and corrosion behavior of pure copper and Cu‐30Ni alloy on high‐touch surfaces under simulated public conditions with periodic cleaning. Copper shows faster virus inactivation due to higher ion release, while Cu‐30Ni offers better aesthetic durability.

Interfacial Chemistry Control of In Situ Grown Gold Nanoparticles on Functionalized MXene Nanosheets

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Gold nucleation on MXene is governed by interfacial oxidation, not termination density. An interface‐resolved pathway is uncovered in which Au nucleates at TiO2/TiOx, guided by local reduction at the surface; where tailored functionalization directs when and where nuclei form, enabling the formation of predictable heterostructures.

Lattice Mismatch‐Driven In‐Plane Strain Engineering for Enhanced Upper Critical Fields in Mo2N Superconducting Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Compressive strain in Mo2N thin films on MgO substrates significantly enhances electron‐phonon coupling, resulting in a ∼25% increase in the upper critical field compared to films on Al2O3 substrate. This finding demonstrates an effective strategy for achieving higher‐performance superconducting devices by utilizing strain as a tunable parameter to ...
