Superconductivity in twisted multilayer graphene: A smoking gun in recent condensed matter physics* [PDF]

open access: greenChinese Physics B, 2020
We review the recent discoveries of exotic phenomena in graphene, especially superconductivity. It has been theoretically suggested for more than one decade that superconductivity may emerge in doped graphene-based materials. For single-layer pristine graphene, there are theoretical predictions that spin-singlet d + id pairing superconductivity is ...

Lattice gauge theory for condensed matter physics: ferromagnetic superconductivity as its example [PDF]

open access: greenModern Physics Letters B, 2014
Recent theoretical studies of various strongly-correlated systems in condensed matter physics reveal that the lattice gauge theory (LGT) developed in high-energy physics is quite a useful tool to understand physics of these systems. Knowledge of LGT is to become a necessary item even for condensed matter physicists. In the first part of this paper, we

Superconductivity close to the Mott state: From condensed-matter systems to superfluidity in optical lattices [PDF]

open access: greenAnnals of Physics, 2009
Since the discovery of high-temperature superconductivity in 1986 by Bednorz and Mueller, great efforts have been devoted to finding out how and why it works. From the d-wave symmetry of the order parameter, the importance of antiferromagnetic fluctuations, and the presence of a mysterious pseudogap phase close to the Mott state, one can conclude that ...

Vortex matter inU(1)×U(1)×Z2phase-separated superconducting condensates [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2014
We study the properties of vortex solutions and magnetic response of two-component U(1)xU(1)xZ(2) superconductors, with phase separation driven by intercomponent density-density interaction. Such a theory can be viewed arising from the breakdown of SU(2) symmetry by a biquadratic interaction between the components of the field.

Superconducting electrons go missing

open access: yesNature, 2016
'Overdoped' high-temperature superconductors, which have a high density of charge carriers, were thought to be well understood. An experiment challenges what we know about quantum physics in such systems. See Letter p.309 Ivan Božovic et al.
