Compatible Conditional Distributions
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1989Abstract Consider two families of candidate conditional densities (or probability mass functions), {f(x | y);y ∈ S y} and {f(y | x): x ∈ S x}. This article investigates necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a joint density (or joint probability mass function) f(x, y) with the given families as its associated conditional densities ...

Multivariate Distributions which have Beta Conditional Distributions
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1975Abstract Distributions having beta conditional distributions arise in connection with the generation of distributions for random proportions which do not necessarily possess neutrality properties (see [3]). The family of bivariate distributions for which both conditional distributions are beta is evaluated, and some multivariate extensions are briefly ...

Bivariate Distributions With Exponential Conditionals
Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1988Abstract It is frequently easier to visualize conditional distributions of experimental variables rather than joint distributions. In this article we consider the most general class of bivariate distributions such that both sets of conditional densities are exponential.

INTEGRATED CONDITIONAL MOMENT TESTS FOR PARAMETRIC CONDITIONAL DISTRIBUTIONS
Econometric Theory, 2011In this paper we propose consistent integrated conditional moment tests for the validity of parametric conditional distribution models, based on the integrated squared difference between the empirical characteristic function of the actual data and the characteristic function implied by the model.

Conditional Distributions: Discrete
1989We are continuing directly from lesson 1. In our definition for marginal distributions, we use only n = 3; it is left to the reader’s imagination to describe all the cases for arbitrary n.

Conditional Distribution Approximations
1994Often inference for a subset of model parameters is desired, and the others are treated as nuisance parameters. Among the many methods for attacking this problem is conditional inference, in which sufficient statistics for nuisance parameters are conditioned on. Calculations involving these conditional distributions are often quite difficult.

Bivariate distributions with pareto conditionals
Statistics & Probability Letters, 1987For a fixed \(\alpha >0\), the totality of bivariate densities with all conditionals being of the Pareto (\(\alpha)\) form is identified. The resulting family is of the form \[ f(x,y)\propto [1+\lambda_ 1x+\lambda_ 2y+\phi \lambda_ 1\lambda_ 2xy]^{-(\alpha +1)} \] for suitable choices of \(\lambda_ 1\), \(\lambda_ 2\) and \(\phi\).

Distributed conditional computation
