Cyclonic damage assessment of rural houses for the east coastal region of India

open access: yesProgress in Disaster Science, 2022
Tropical cyclones are one of the most frequently occurring natural hazards in the coastal regions of India that cause extensive damage to life as well as property. Undertaking damage assessment of houses in a cyclone-prone region is important for cyclone

Population coding of conditional probability distributions in dorsal premotor cortex [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Abstract Our bodies and the environment constrain our movements. For example, when our arm is fully outstretched, we cannot extend it further. More generally, the distribution of possible movements is conditioned on the state of our bodies in the environment, which is constantly changing.

Heuristically Adaptive Diffusion‐Model Evolutionary Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Building on the mathematical equivalence between diffusion models and evolutionary algorithms, researchers demonstrate unprecedented control over evolutionary optimization through conditional diffusion. By training diffusion models to associate parameters with specific traits, they can guide evolution toward solutions exhibiting desired behaviors ...

MGM as a Large‐Scale Pretrained Foundation Model for Microbiome Analyses in Diverse Contexts

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present the Microbial General Model (MGM), a transformer‐based foundation model pretrained on over 260,000 microbiome samples. MGM learns contextualized microbial representations via self‐supervised language modeling, enabling robust transfer learning, cross‐regional generalization, keystone taxa discovery, and prompt‐guided generation of realistic,

Interpretation and Semiparametric Efficiency in Quantile Regression under Misspecification

open access: yesEconometrics, 2015
Allowing for misspecification in the linear conditional quantile function, this paper provides a new interpretation and the semiparametric efficiency bound for the quantile regression parameter β (

IGF‐1 Deficiency Serves as an Integrated Biomarker Pathogenic Driver and Predictor in Poor Ovarian Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF‐1 deficiency underlies poor ovarian response (POR), as reduced levels in follicular fluid and granulosa cells impair antral follicle formation and compromise reproductive outcomes. Including IGF‐1 as a biomarker significantly enhances the accuracy of models predicting both PORrisk and pregnancy success.

Generation of SARS-CoV-2 dual-target candidate inhibitors through 3D equivariant conditional generative neural networks

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) mutations are influenced by random and uncontrollable factors, and the risk of the next widespread epidemic remains.

Fibroblast Activation Protein Promotes Thoracic Aortic Dissection via PLAUR/ITGB1‐Mediated Pro‐inflammatory Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that FAP promotes thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) through a nonenzymatic mechanism involving fibroblast‐macrophage crosstalk via the FAP/PLAUR/ITGB1/FAK axis. Targeting this pathway might offer a promising therapeutic strategy for TAD.

Meta‐GWAS of Pig Semen Quality Traits Reveals Conserved Genes Regulating Mammalian Fertility

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study incorporated 14 210 individuals to perform a GWAS meta‐analysis of six semen quality traits. The GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 234 GWAS loci associated with semen quality traits. The incorporation with a functional genomics resource explains potential genetic regulation of ∼40% GWAS signals underlying semen quality traits.
