Calibration and Performance of the High Resolution Volatiles and Minerals Moon Mapper (HVM3) on Lunar Trailblazer

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract This article reports on the initial calibration and performance of the High‐resolution Volatiles and Minerals Moon Mapper (HVM3 ${\mathrm{H}\mathrm{V}\mathrm{M}}^{3}$), slated for launch on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Lunar Trailblazer mission.

Joint Posterior Probability Active Learning for Hyperspectral Image Classification

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Active learning (AL) is an approach that can reduce the dependence on the labeled set significantly. However, most current active-learning methods are only concerned with the first two columns of the posterior probability matrix during the sampling phase.

Factorizing Probabilistic Graphical Models Using Co-occurrence Rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Factorization is of fundamental importance in the area of Probabilistic Graphical Models (PGMs). In this paper, we theoretically develop a novel mathematical concept, \textbf{C}o-occurrence \textbf{R}ate (CR), for factorizing PGMs.

WNUT 2020 Shared Task-1: Conditional Random Field(CRF) based Named Entity Recognition(NER) for Wet Lab Protocols [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Sixth Workshop on Noisy User-generated Text (W-NUT 2020), 2020
The paper describes how classifier model built using Conditional Random Field detects named entities in wet lab protocols.

Early Detection of Lower Adherence to Long‐Term e‐Diary Recording: A Checkpoint to Target Early Educational Intervention in Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis?

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 526-537, May 2026.
Adherence to e‐Diary reporting was investigated in a blended care setting among pollen allergic patients with heterogeneous cultural backgrounds. A stable ‘higher’ and a more variable ‘lower’ adherence cluster were identified. Early identification of lower adherence is possible and might inform early interventions to improve patient adherence. Deep Randomly-Connected Conditional Random Fields For Image Segmentation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The use of Markov random fields (MRFs) is a common approach for performing image segmentation, where the problem is modeled using MRFs that incorporate priors on neighborhood nodes to allow for efficient Maximum a Posteriori inference.

CONTEXTUAL CLASSIFICATION OF POINT CLOUDS USING A TWO-STAGE CRF [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2015
In this investigation, we address the task of airborne LiDAR point cloud labelling for urban areas by presenting a contextual classification methodology based on a Conditional Random Field (CRF).

Short‐term effects of wildlife rehabilitation disappear over time in the wild: A case study on Spanish imperial eagles

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
We assessed the effectiveness of Wildlife Recovery Centers by comparing dispersal behavior of rehabilitated and wild Spanish imperial eagles using GPS tracking. Rehabilitated individuals initially moved shorter distances, rested more, and hunted less than wild controls, but these differences declined over time and ultimately disappeared.

Mechanical Strain‐Programmed SDC1+ Sheath Fibroblasts Trigger CXCR4hi Neutrophil‐Mediated Enthesitis in Ankylosing Spondylitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 21, 13 April 2026.
In ankylosing spondylitis (AS), mechanical strain‐programmed SDC1+ sheath fibroblasts secrete CXCL5 to recruit neutrophils and promote the activation of CXCR4hi neutrophils, thereby exacerbating enthesitis by promoting neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formation. SOX5 controls the generation of SDC1+ sheath fibroblasts via super‐enhancers.

Upsampling DINOv2 Features for Unsupervised Vision Tasks and Weakly Supervised Materials Segmentation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
Feature from recent image foundation models (DINOv2) are useful for vision tasks (segmentation, object localization) with little or no human input. Once upsampled, they can be used for weakly supervised micrograph segmentation, achieving strong results when compared to classical features (blurs, edge detection) across a range of material systems.
