Structural nonlinear damage identification using penalty conversion index of GARCH model

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
In the service period, some engineering structures may have cracks or other nonlinear damages. The nonlinear damages are the major influence to the safety of engineering structures, which should be detected as early as possible.

Predicting Instability [PDF]

open access: yes
Unanticipated shocks could lead to instability, which is reflected in statistically significant changes in distributions of independent Gaussian random variables. Changes in the conditional moments of stationary variables are predictable.

Glucocorticoids Alter Bone Microvascular Barrier via MAPK/Connexin43 Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 7, March 14, 2025.
Osteoporosis induced by Glucocorticoids (GCs) is a common complication of long‐term GC use in patients with inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, often leading to an increased fracture risk. A 3D bicellular endo‐osteo microfluidic platform is developed to explore pathogenic mechanisms underlying GCs‐induced osteoporosis, highlighting a novel MAPK ...

Multi-time state mean-variance model in continuous time [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In the continuous time mean-variance model, we want to minimize the variance (risk) of the investment portfolio with a given mean at terminal time. However, the investor can stop the investment plan at any time before the terminal time. To solve this kind of problem, we consider to minimize the variances of the investment portfolio at multi-time state.

Consistent estimation of the risk-return tradeoff in the presence of measurement error [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Prominent asset pricing models imply a linear, time-invariant relation between the equity premium and its conditional variance. We propose an approach to estimating this relation that overcomes some of the limitations of the existing literature. First,

Engineered 3D Kidney Glomerular Microtissues to Model Podocyte‐Centric Diseases for the Validation of New Drug Targets

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The study introduces innovative 3D microtissues that replicate the glomerular filtration barrier of the kidney, offering a novel platform for understanding podocytopathies. These microtissues simulate the glomerulus's structure and dynamics, allowing for the modeling of podocyte injuries and drug testing.

INVESTIGATION OF THE OIL PRICE VOLATILITY WITH AUTOREGRESSIVE CONDITIONAL VARIANCE MODELS ARCH/GARCH

open access: yesMehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2020
Oil prices have had a significant volatility over the past century as a result of changes in international economic and political balances. Because oil is a major source of energy and is not evenly distributed among countries, it now has a strategic ...

Optimizing Metamaterial Inverse Design with 3D Conditional Diffusion Model and Data Augmentation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A generative AI model, the 3D conditional diffusion model (3D‐CDM), is introduced to enhance the inverse design of voxel‐based metamaterials. A data augmentation technique based on topological perturbation expands the dataset, further improving generation quality and accuracy.

Immune Checkpoint PD‐L1 Modulates Retinal Microglial Activation to Alleviate Vascular Leakage in Choroidal Neovascularization via ERK

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PD‐L1 limits neuroinflammation in neovascular AMD by modulating microglial activation. Its deficiency exacerbates vascular leakage and choroidal neovascularization (CNV) via ERK signaling, while enhancing PD‐L1 reduces inflammation and neovascularization. Targeting PD‐L1 may offer a novel immunomodulatory strategy for NVAMD.
