Finite element GPR numerical simulations based on mixed boundary conditions
2012 14th International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), 2012With the consideration of different theoretical mechanisms for the transmitting and Sarma boundary conditions, a mixed boundary condition is proposed that combines both boundary conditions. This enables the remaining energy of a GPR wave to be transmitted through the boundary after it is attenuated and absorbed as specified by the Sarma boundary ...

Effect of Boundary Conditions on Finite Element Submodeling
When a built-up structure such as a turbine or compressor is modeled with finite elements, a submodeling procedure can be used to assess critical features such as holes, fillets, or contact interfaces. To employ the method, one builds and solves a coarse-mesh finite element model of the whole structure.Michael W. Sracic, William J. Elke

Progress on radiation boundary conditions for electromagnetic finite element analysis
2007 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications, 2007Recent progress on three types of radiation boundary conditions (RBCs) for the finite element method (FEM) is presented. The following RBCs are discussed: a rigorous implementation of the 2nd order Bayliss-Turkel type for vector FEM; an implementation of a spherical perfectly matched layer (PML); and infinite elements.

Condition monitoring of rolling element bearing based on Phase-PCA
2013 25th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (CCDC), 2013As the key component of many rotating machineries, running condition of rolling element bearings must be monitored for guaranteeing production efficiency and safety. In this paper, a new method of condition monitoring for rolling element bearing, Phase-PCA, is proposed based on Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Phase Space Reconstruction (PSR ...

On invertibility conditions for elements of Banach algebras of measures
Mathematical Notes, 2013Let \(S(\phi)\) be a certain commutative Banach algebra of measures on \(\mathbb{R}\) with the convolution of measures as the multiplication. Let \(\widehat{\nu}\) denote the Laplace transform of the measure \(\nu \in S(\phi) \). It is proved that, if \(\nu = \nu_c + \nu_d + \nu_s \) is the decomposition of an element \(\nu \in S(\phi)\) into an ...

Lidt Tests On Optical Elements Under Special Conditions
2019This contribution presents a technology for the design, deposition and testing of thin film coatings on optical elements designed to operate in high power pulsed laser systems. I have designed and built a test station which is used as an addition to the thin film coating production facilities used at the Institute of Scientific Instruments.
