The effects of trace elements, cations, and environmental conditions on protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase activity

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 2013
Phenanthracene is a highly toxic organic compound capable of contaminating water and soils, and biodegradation is an important tool for remediating polluted environments.

A statistical approach for modelling the effect of hot press conditions on the mechanical strength properties of HTGR fuel elements

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2022
The high temperature gas-cooled reactors (HTGRs) are the next-generation reactors with high safety, because the cores of HTGRs would not melt. But it is important to improve the oxidation resistance of the fuel in case of a huge oxygen ingress into the ...

Outcomes of Live Virus Vaccination in Patients With Vascular Anomalies Being Treated With Sirolimus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Live vaccination in patients with vascular anomalies (VA) receiving sirolimus remains controversial due to immunosuppressive effects and theoretical risks. Procedure This single‐center retrospective study included patients with VA less than 4 years old at the start of sirolimus therapy who were incompletely vaccinated.

Multi-Dimensional Plant Element Stoichiometry—Looking Beyond Carbon, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Nutrient elements are important for plant growth. Element stoichiometry considers the balance between different nutrients and how this balance is affected by the environment.

Pediatric Oncology Nursing Competencies in Latin America and the Caribbean: A Scoping Review to Inform Practice, Education, and Research

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Nurses are central to cancer care for children and adolescents, yet no comprehensive synthesis has defined essential core competencies for pediatric oncology nursing (PON) practice internationally, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).

On the Bounds for Diagonal and Off-Diagonal Elements of the Hat Matrix in the Linear Regression Model

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2016
In the least squares analysis, an appropriate criterion to detect potentially influential observations, either individually or jointly, deals with the values of corresponding Hat matrix elements.

Prevalence and Trajectory of Household Material Hardship Among Children With Advanced Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Families of children with advanced cancer living in poverty experience inferior outcomes including poor parent mental health and worse child quality of life. Household material hardship (HMH: food, housing, transportation, and/or utility insecurity) is a modifiable poverty exposure—and potential intervention target—that ...

Numerical analysis of the stress-strain state of thin shells based on a joint triangular finite element

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2019
Relevance. The use of the finite element method for determining the stressstrain state of thin-walled elements of engineering structures predetermines their discretization into separate finite elements.

On finite groups with conditions on the centralizers of p-elements

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1978
AbstractWe classify all finite simple groups in which the centralizer of every element of order 3, θ, is either a 3-group or is isomorphic to 〈θ〉 × A4. Related results, including sufficient conditions for a Cpp group to be a pCC group and a classification of finite Cpp groups of order relatively prime to 3, are proved.
