We know little about the origins of one of the oldest forms of contraception in medicine, the condom. Condoms were initially recognised as being useful for the prevention of sexually transmissible infections. Later on, they were used as contraceptives. We present here a short presentation of the condom’s history.

Condom-murder is term used to describe a homicide where a person has been killed due to his recreational sexual behaviour and the killing has strong links with the recovered condom/contraceptive material on the scene or was in personal possession of victim. It can provide immediate clue about perpetrator. We present six cases of a similar nature.

Interaction of condom design and user techniques and condom acceptability
Contraception, 1995In 1991, the source of public sector condom supplies in an African country changed from USAID to WHO. Following a complaint, the two types of condoms were sampled and compared. Laboratory tests indicated that the new-style condoms were of adequate quality, but a number of differences were noted between the two types.
