High‐Phenolic Cocoa Enhances Drug‐Induced Reinstatement of Cocaine‐Conditioned Place Preference Independently of Increasing Adult Hippocampal Neurogenesis

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 9, September 2025.

Allometric Constraint Predominates Over the Acoustic Adaptation Hypothesis in a Radiation of Neotropical Treefrogs

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, Volume 20, Issue 4, Page 763-773, July 2025.
Male frogs emit calls to attract mates and deter conspecific rivals. The evolution of these calls is thought to be linked to anatomical constraints and the acoustic characteristics of their surroundings. We tested these two factors in a radiation of 112 species of Neotropical treefrogs and found that body size and calling site affect peak frequency but

Take a Look: Naturalistic Composition of the Maternal Nest in the European Rabbit Oryctolagus cuniculus Contributes to Offspring Growth and Survival

open access: yesEthology, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2025.
European rabbit mothers construct a complex nursery nest, which includes hay and mother’s faeces. By systematically manipulating the composition of nests we found that pups consume both hay and mother’s faeces, and that both components facilitate the transition to solid food postweaning by reducing gut pathology and even death.
