A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

The dual effect of membrane potential on sodium conductance in the giant axon of Loligo
This paper contains a further account of the electrical properties of the giant axon of Loligo. It deals with the 'inactivation' process which gradually reduces sodium permeability after it has undergone the initial rise associated with depolarization ...

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

This study demonstrates that KRAS and GNAS mutations are more prevalent in patients with resected intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) compared to those under clinical surveillance. GNAS mutations significantly differ between the two patient cohorts, indicating that their absence may serve as a potential biomarker to support conservative ...

Modeling and Analysis of a Radiative Thermal Memristor
This study presents a theoretical framework for a radiative thermal memristor (RTM), utilizing Tungsten-doped vanadium dioxide (WVO) as the phase-change material (PCM) and silicon carbide (SiC) in the far-field regime. The behavior of the RTM is depicted

Smaller, faster stomata: scaling of stomatal size, rate of response, and stomatal conductance
Maximum and minimum stomatal conductance, as well as stomatal size and rate of response, are known to vary widely across plant species, but the functional relationship between these static and dynamic stomatal properties is unknown. The objective of this
