ABSTRACTOver the past 5 years, there has been increasing interest in the application of principles of Conductive Education, also known as the Peto method, to treat children with cerebral palsy. In 1945 Andras Peto, a Hungarian physician trained in rehabilitation and psychiatry, began his work with motor disordered children.1 In 1952 he opened what was ...

Intrinsic conductivity of conducting polymers
Synthetic Metals, 1988Because the charged dopant ions are spatially separated from the quasi-one-dimensional conduction path in conducting polymers, resistive back scattering is suppressed. In the case of high molecular weight and relatively few sp3 defects, even relatively weak interchain coupling is sufficient to avoid one-dimensional localization; this leads to coherent ...

Nurse Researcher, 2000
The traditional guidance to researchers conducting interviews in the field is that the researcher should say as little as possible and encourage the respondents to talk in an untramelled way about the issues under discussion. But is this approach appropriate in all circumstances? Keith Melia examines the issues by focusing on research carried out in an

Conducting Polymers: Electrical Conductivity
2007Abstract : While undoped polymers are insulators, doped conducting polymers have conductivities comparable to conventional metals and semiconductors despite their polymer chain structure. Models for the doping induced insulator-metal transition and the metallic conductivity of conducting polymers are introduced.

To analyze all but the most simple of cardiac arrhythmias, one must understand the concept of concealed conduction. The numerous electrocardiographic manifestations of concealed conduction, some illustrated in this discussion, remain interesting models of basic electrophysiologic phenomena.
