Reduced sodium current in the lateral ventricular wall induces inferolateral J-waves

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2016
Background: J-waves in inferolateral leads are associated with a higher risk for idiopathic ventricular fibrillation. We aimed to test potential mechanisms (depolarization or repolarization dependent) responsible for inferolateral J-waves.

Conductance renormalization and conductivity of a multi-subband Tomonaga-Luttinger model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We studied the conductance renormalization and conductivity of multi-subband Tomonaga-Luttinger models with inter-subband interactions. We found that, as in single-band systems, the conductance of a multi-subband system with an arbitrary number of subbands is not renormalized due to interaction between electrons.

Universal zero-bias conductance for the single electron transistor. II: Comparison with numerical results [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 80 (2009) 235317 p.1-22 (merged with 0906.4063), 2009
A numerical renormalization-group survey of the zero-bias electrical conductance through a quantum dot embedded in the conduction path of a nanodevice is reported. The results are examined in the light of a recently derived linear mapping between the temperature-dependent conductance and the universal function describing the conductance for the ...

The Reversal Effect of Sigma-1 Receptor (S1R) Agonist, SA4503, on Atrial Fibrillation After Depression and Its Underlying Mechanism

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
AimSigma-1 receptors have been investigated and shown to play a protective role in both depression and cardiovascular disease. SA4503, known as a σ1 receptor agonist, regulates cardiac calcium and potassium channels in rat models of depression.

Assembly of the Cardiac Pacemaking Complex: Electrogenic Principles of Sinoatrial Node Morphogenesis

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease, 2021
Cardiac pacemaker cells located in the sinoatrial node initiate the electrical impulses that drive rhythmic contraction of the heart. The sinoatrial node accounts for only a small proportion of the total mass of the heart yet must produce a stimulus of ...

Tunable Thermal Conduction in Graphane Nanoribbons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Graphane and graphene are both two-dimensional materials but of different bonding configurations, which can result in distinct thermal conduction properties. We simulate thermal conduction in graphane nanoribbons (GANRs) using the nonequilibrium Green's function method.

Thermal Conduction and Multiphase Gas in Cluster Cores

open access: yes, 2015
We examine the role of thermal conduction and magnetic fields in cores of galaxy clusters through global simulations of the intracluster medium (ICM).

Follow-up study of sensory-motor polyneuropathy in Type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetic subjects after simultaneous pancreas and kidney transplantation and after graft rejection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The influence of successful simultaneous pancreas and kidney transplantation on peripheral polyneuropathy was investigated in 53 patients for a mean observation period of 40.3 months. Seventeen patients were followed-up for more than 3 years.

Heterogeneities in Ventricular Conduction Following Treatment with Heptanol: A Multi-Electrode Array Study in Langendorff-Perfused Mouse Hearts

open access: yesLife, 2022
Background: Previous studies have associated slowed ventricular conduction with the arrhythmogenesis mediated by the gap junction and sodium channel inhibitor heptanol in mouse hearts.

Gap Symmetry and Thermal Conductivity in Nodal Superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Here we consider the universal heat conduction and the angular dependent thermal conductivity in the vortex state for a few nodal superconductors. We present the thermal conductivity as a function of impurity concentration and the angular dependent thermal conductivity in a few nodal superconductors. This provides further insight in the gap symmetry of
