Peribulbar anesthesia and optic nerve conduction
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1991Serial recordings of distance visual acuity and visually evoked potentials (VEPs) after peribulbar anesthesia in three patients are reported. Visual acuity was not markedly affected but the latency and amplitude of VEPs were. This study concludes that optic nerve conduction is not significantly affected by peribulbar anesthesia.
