Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

We model hydrodynamic interactions of an old supernova remnant shock wave with a small interstellar gas cloud, taking into account the effects of thermal conduction and radiative losses. In particular, we consider a representative case of a Mach 30 shock

Various methods have been discussed in the literature regarding enabling the over-current (OC) capability of silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs. SiC MOSFETs can operate at up to 250 °C without failure. One of their features is to permit transient operation at

An Analytical Model of Dynamic Power Losses in eGaN HEMT Power Devices
In this work, we present an analytical model of dynamic power losses for enhancement-mode AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility transistor power devices (eGaN HEMTs). To build this new model, the dynamic on-resistance (Rdson) is first accurately extracted via

ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic limb‐threatening ischemia (CLTI) is a severe form of lower‐extremity artery disease characterized by distal lesions and microcirculatory impairment, limiting revascularization efficacy. Rheocarna is a direct hemoperfusion low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) adsorption device with potential rheological and anti‐inflammatory ...

Bone Conduction Improvement After Surgery for Conductive Hearing Loss [PDF]
The objective is to evaluate change in post-operative bone conduction in patients who underwent surgery for conductive/mixed hearing loss due to various reasons. The study design is of retrospective case review and tertiary referral center setting. Five-hundred patients with unilateral conductive/mixed hearing loss were divided into five equal groups ...

A conduction losses optimization strategy for DAB converters in wide voltage range
Conduction losses, which are proportional to the square of rms inductor current, account for an important part of total losses for a dual active bridge (DAB) converter. A minimum rms inductor current control strategy based on Dual Phase Shift (DPS)
