Sudden Conductive Hearing Loss Following Sneezing
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1973This is a case report of sudden conductive hearing loss following sneezing. Surgical exploration of the middle ear revealed a fragmented stapedial foot plate. Stapedectomy was performed with a satisfactory result.

Gain Requirements of Conductive Hearing Losses
British Journal of Audiology, 1980Individuals with significant air-bone gap were presumed to need the gain used by sensori-neural hearing losses, plus one-fifth of the air-bone gap. The amount of operating gain used by 76 conductive and mixed hearing losses was found to closely approximate the predicted amount, but there were large individual differences.

These features are provided by the history, the otologic examination, and the hearing tests:I. The history may reveal a discharging ear or a previous ear infection. A feeling of fullness, as if fluid were trapped in the ear, may accompany the hearing loss, or a sudden unilateral hearing loss may follow an effort to clean out wax with a fingertip ...

Imaging conductive hearing loss
2012Learning objectives: 1. To outline the essential CT anatomy of the conductive hearing pathway 2. To review the common causes of conductive hearing loss in adults and to illustrate their radiological features on high resolution CT of the temporal bones. 3.

Conductive hearing loss and speech development
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 1988The central issue about conductive hearing loss and speech development is the impact of mild to moderate hearing loss that may be intermittent. Although opinions vary considerably about what this does to the ability of the child to learn, most studies support a position of concern.

Noise-induced Hearing Loss in Shipyard Workers with Unilateral Conductive Hearing Loss
Scandinavian Audiology, 1983In a study of 6500 workers in the shipbuilding industry, 8 subjects were found to have unilateral conductive hearing impairment established before the noise exposure period and without recurrent attacks of acute or chronic infection or clinical diagnosis of otosclerosis.

Effects of Conductive Hearing Loss
Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 1980This paper reviews the empirical evidence implicating conductive hearing impairment as a causal agent in learning disability, language dysfunction, and central auditory problems. From this review one can conclude that there are few, if any, valid data linking conductive hearing impairment to any of these problems.
