The role of ligands in coinage-metal nanoparticles for electronics
Coinage-metal nanoparticles are key components of many printable electronic inks. They can be combined with polymers to form conductive composites and have been used as the basis of molecular electronic devices.

Hydrothermally grown rutile TiO2 nanowires are intrinsically full of lattice defects, especially oxygen vacancies. These vacancies have a significant influence on the structural and electronic properties of the nanowires.

Conductance renormalization and conductivity of a multi-subband Tomonaga-Luttinger model [PDF]
We studied the conductance renormalization and conductivity of multi-subband Tomonaga-Luttinger models with inter-subband interactions. We found that, as in single-band systems, the conductance of a multi-subband system with an arbitrary number of subbands is not renormalized due to interaction between electrons.

Universal zero-bias conductance for the single electron transistor. II: Comparison with numerical results [PDF]
A numerical renormalization-group survey of the zero-bias electrical conductance through a quantum dot embedded in the conduction path of a nanodevice is reported. The results are examined in the light of a recently derived linear mapping between the temperature-dependent conductance and the universal function describing the conductance for the ...

Integration of sensors for dam water quality analysis – a prototype
Water consumed is stored in several water bodies in and around us, out of which dams accommodate a major portion of water. The quantity and quality monitoring of water in dams is troublesome due to their large surface area and high depths.

Tunable Thermal Conduction in Graphane Nanoribbons [PDF]
Graphane and graphene are both two-dimensional materials but of different bonding configurations, which can result in distinct thermal conduction properties. We simulate thermal conduction in graphane nanoribbons (GANRs) using the nonequilibrium Green's function method.

Impact of Fuel Contents on Tribological Performance of PAO Base Oil and ZDDP
Fuel and water contents are inevitable in automotive engine oils. This study intends to investigate the impact of the addition of gasoline (3–20%) and water (1%) on the lubricating performance of synthetic base oil (PAO), with or without an anti ...

Gap Symmetry and Thermal Conductivity in Nodal Superconductors [PDF]
Here we consider the universal heat conduction and the angular dependent thermal conductivity in the vortex state for a few nodal superconductors. We present the thermal conductivity as a function of impurity concentration and the angular dependent thermal conductivity in a few nodal superconductors. This provides further insight in the gap symmetry of

Uniqueness of the inverse conductivity problem once-differentiable complex conductivities in three dimensions [PDF]
We prove uniqueness of the inverse conductivity problem in three dimensions for complex conductivities in $W^{1,\infty}$. We apply quaternionic analysis to transform the inverse problem into an inverse Dirac scattering problem, as established in two dimensions by Brown and Uhlmann.
