Cone Beam CT in Occlusal Caries Research [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The diagnosis of occlusal caries remains a challenge due to lack of a single sensitive and reproducible diagnostic tool. Conebeam computed tomography (CT) is volumetric imaging method which allows structures to be visualized in 3D as well as in discrete ...

Boron Monofluoride Complexes Bearing π‐Expanded Coumarin Subunits: Facile Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Solid‐State Enhanced Emission

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We here report the design, facile synthesis, experimental, and theoretical characterization of a novel class of monofluoroborate compounds featuring π‐expanded coumarin subunits displaying solid‐state enhanced Emission. The origin of this phenomenon is disclosed by combined theoretical and spectroscopic investigations.

Cone beam CT: non-dental applications

open access: yesJournal of the Belgian Society of Radiology, 2013
Initially cone beam CT was almost exclusively used to perform dental radiology. However, the first generation CBCT systems were later increasingly used to study sinuses, facial and nose fractures, temporomandibular joints etc. 3D-cephalometric head and neck studies became possible once CBCT systems were available that allowed scanning of the complete ...

Controllable growth of two‐dimensional molecular crystals for high‐performance hybrid heterostructure imaging device

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Layer‐controlled two‐dimensional perylene‐derivative molecular crystals grow by van der Waals vapor‐phase epitaxy and show near‐unity photoluminescence quantum yields. In hybrid structures with TMDCs, the carrier relaxation can be tuned from charge transfer to Förster resonance energy transfer.
