Confidence intervals: Concepts, fallacies, criticisms, solutions and beyond [PDF]
For a long time, confidence interval theory is the basis of statistics, and confidence interval has been regarded as an important content of statistical analysis.

Inferential Statistics Is an Unfit Tool for Interpreting Data
Null hypothesis significance testing is a commonly used tool for making statistical inferences in empirical studies, but its use has always been controversial. In this manuscript, I argue that even more problematic is that significance testing, and other

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

p value and confidence intervals
In any research after obtaining the results, the researcher wants to know whether the results obtained are statistically significant or not. The statistical significance is usually expressed as p value or confidence intervals.

Simple and Honest Confidence Intervals in Nonparametric Regression
We consider the problem of constructing honest confidence intervals (CIs) for a scalar parameter of interest, such as the regression discontinuity parameter, in nonparametric regression based on kernel or local polynomial estimators.

We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Inference for the Weibull Distribution: A tutorial [PDF]
This tutorial deals with the 2-parameter Weibull distribution. In particular it covers the construction of confidence bounds and intervals for various parameters of interest, the Weibull scale and shape parameters, its quantiles and tail probabilities ...

A calculator for confidence intervals [PDF]
A calculator program has been written to give confidence intervals on branching ratios for rare decay modes (or similar quantities) calculated from the number of events observed, the acceptance factor, the background estimate and the associated errors.

Confidence Intervals for Projections of Partially Identified Parameters
We propose a bootstrap-based calibrated projection procedure to build confidence intervals for single components and for smooth functions of a partially identified parameter vector in moment (in)equality models.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.
