A new confidence region for the multinomial distribution

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2015
ABSTRACTA simple confidence region is proposed for the multinomial parameter. It is designed for situations having zero cell counts. Simulation studies as well as a real data application show that it performs at least as well as than at least two of the most common confidence regions.

Evaluating joint confidence region of hypervolume under ROC manifold and generalized Youden index

Statistics in Medicine, 2023
In biomarker evaluation/diagnostic studies, the hypervolume under the receiver operating characteristic manifold ( HUMK$$ {\mathrm{HUM}}_K $$ ) and the generalized Youden index ( JK$$ {J}_K $$ ) are the most popular measures for assessing classification ...

Asymptotic normality and confidence region for Catoni's Z estimator

Stat, 2022
This paper studies the asymptotic property and confidence region of Catoni's Z estimator under the finite variance assumption. First, we investigate the CLT for Catoni's Z estimator with the asymptotically optimal variance, if the tuning parameter has ...

Joint confidence region estimation on predictive values

Pharmaceutical statistics, 2021
For evaluating diagnostic accuracy of inherently continuous diagnostic tests/biomarkers, sensitivity and specificity are well‐known measures both of which depend on a diagnostic cut‐off, which is usually estimated.

A joint confidence region for an overall ranking of populations

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series C (Applied Statistics), 2020
National statistical agencies lack statistical methodology to express uncertainty in their released estimated overall rankings. For example, the US Census Bureau produced an ‘explicit’ ranking of the states based on observed sample estimates during 2011 ...
