Biomechanical Modeling of Finger Joints Based on Dimeric Kinematics

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering
In the literature, the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints (PIP and DIP) are usually described as singleaxis hinge joints, whereas the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint is typically described as a two-axis joint.

The Relationship Between Spatial Configuration and Social Interaction in High-Rise Flats: A Case Study On The Jatinegara Barat in Jakarta.

open access: yesSHS Web of Conferences, 2018
The construction of high-rise flats to minimize urban slum areas in Indonesia still create space use behavior problems for its residents due to the changes of space configuration between high-rise landed housing.

In-medium nucleon-nucleon potentials in configuration space

open access: yes, 2001
Based on the thermodynamic Green function approach two-nucleon correlations in nuclear matter at finite temperatures are revisited. To this end, we derive phase equivalent effective $r$-space potentials that include the effect of the Pauli blocking at a ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Robotic Arm C‐Space Trajectory Planning Using Large‐Scale Digital Twin Parallelism and Safety‐Prioritisable Optimal Search Algorithm

open access: yesIET Cyber-systems and Robotics
This paper proposes a trajectory planning approach based on the configuration space (C‐space) generated from large‐scale digital twinning. Leveraging GPU‐based parallelism, the C‐space of a multi‐degree‐of‐freedom (multi‐DoF) manipulator in a complex ...

Geometrical Ambiguity of Pair Statistics. I. Point Configurations

open access: yes, 2009
Point configurations have been widely used as model systems in condensed matter physics, materials science and biology. Statistical descriptors such as the $n$-body distribution function $g_n$ is usually employed to characterize the point configurations,

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Noncommutativity in Configuration Space Induced by a Conjugate Magnetic Field in Phase Space

open access: yesMathematics
An external magnetic field in configuration space coupled to quantum dynamics induces noncommutativity in its velocity momentum space. By phase space duality, an external vector potential in the conjugate momentum sector of the system induces ...

Pointwise Reconstruction of Wave Functions from Their Moments through Weighted Polynomial Expansions: An Alternative Global-Local Quantization Procedure

open access: yesMathematics, 2015
Many quantum systems admit an explicit analytic Fourier space expansion, besides the usual analytic Schrödinger configuration space representation. We argue that the use of weighted orthonormal polynomial expansions for the physical states (generated ...

Extremal areas of polygons with fixed perimeter

open access: yes, 2019
We consider the configuration space of planar $n$-gons with fixed perimeter, which is diffeomorphic to the complex projective space $\mathbb{C}P^{n-2}$. The oriented area function has the minimal number of critical points on the configuration space.
