Approaches for Structural Investigations of Binary Data Using Confirmatory Factor Models
An investigation of the suitability of threshold-based and threshold-free approaches for structural investigations of binary data is reported. Both approaches implicitly establish a relationship between binary data following the binomial distribution on one hand and continuous random variables assuming a normal distribution on the other hand.

Pairwise stochastic approximation for confirmatory factor analysis of categorical data
Abstract Pairwise likelihood is a limited‐information method widely used to estimate latent variable models, including factor analysis of categorical data. It can often avoid evaluating high‐dimensional integrals and, thus, is computationally more efficient than relying on the full likelihood.

Evaluation of confirmatory data following the Article 12 MRL review for flutolanil [PDF]
The applicant Nihon Nohyaku Co. Ltd. submitted a request to the competent national authority in Finland to evaluate the confirmatory data that were identified for flutolanil in the framework of the maximum residue level (MRL) review under Article 12 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 as not available.

In light of the “replication crisis,” some advocate for stricter standards and greater transparency in research methods. These efforts push toward a data analysis approach called “confirmatory data analysis” (CDA). However, some (e.g., Baumeister, 2016; Finkel, Eastwick, & Reis, 2017; Goldin-Meadow, 2016) argued emphasizing CDA may restrict ...

Children’s Positive Emotions Questionnaire: Confirmatory Analysis and Normative Data
The aim of this study was to assess the validity based on internal structure of the Children's Questionnaire of Positive Emotions (CIEP), and to provide normative data for the interpretation of the scores of Argentinean children, aged from 8 to 12 years old. Participants were 1384 girls, 1376 boys and 1 child who did not identify his sex (M = 10.14; SD

Current exploratory and confirmatory issues in data analysis in psychology
In 1968 John Tukey gave a speech at the American Psychological Association in San Francisco about the relevance of proper data analysis in Psychology (Tukey, 1969). His closing message was that “data analysis needs to be both exploratory and confirmatory” (p. 90). Exploratory data analysis (or EDA) is an approach to analysing data in order to formulate
