High temperature confocal scanning laser microscopy analysis of dead‐burned magnesia aggregates
Dead‐burned magnesia is a commonly used material in the manufacturing of refractories for the steelmaking industry. Aggregates of dead‐burned magnesia contain secondary phases due to the impurities within the magnesite rock used in its production.

Ex Vivo Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy in Rare Skin Diseases. [PDF]
While ex vivo confocal laser scanning microscopy has previously demonstrated its utility in most common skin diseases, its use in the assessment of dermatological entities with lower incidence remains unexplored in most cases.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Confocal laser scanning microscopy in vivo for diagnosing melanocytic skin neoplasms
The authors discuss the use of confocal laser scanning microscopy in vivo (CLSM) for diagnosing melanocytic skin neoplasms and its value for early diagnostics of melanoma. CLSM is an innovation noninvasive visual examination method for real-time multiple

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Use of laser scanning confocal microscopy for morphological taxonomy and the potential for digital type specimens (e-types) [PDF]
The use of laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) for creating taxonomic descriptions of copepods is investigated. A new technique is described, which employs a contour filter to process digital LSCM images, allowing taxonomic information to be ...
