Conformal relativity versus Brans-Dicke and superstring theories

open access: yes, 2004
Conformal relativity theory which is also known as Hoyle-Narlikar theory has recently been given some new interest. It is an extended relativity theory which is invariant with respect to conformal transformations of the metric.

Emergent Magnetic Structures at the 2D Limit of the Altermagnet MnTe

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Renewed interest in MnTe has emerged due to its intriguing altermagnetism, a newly identified form of magnetism distinct from conventional ferro‐, antiferro‐, or paramagnetism. By combining magnetic X‐ray absorption spectroscopy, scanning tunnelling microscopy, and first‐principles theory, this study reveals that thinning MnTe to the 2D limit ...

Holographic dual of crosscap conformal field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We propose a holographic dual for 2D CFT defined on closed non-orientable manifolds, such as the real projective plane ℝℙ2 and the Klein bottle 𝕂2. Such CFT can be constructed by introducing antipodally identified cuttings, i.e.

4D gauge theories with conformal matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
One of the hallmarks of 6D superconformal field theories (SCFTs) is that on a partial tensor branch, all known theories resemble quiver gauge theories with links comprised of 6D conformal matter, a generalization of weakly coupled hypermultiplets.

Logarithmic celestial conformal field theory

open access: yesPhysical Review D
We argue that the celestial conformal field theory exhibits patterns of a logarithmic conformal field theory. We uncover a Jordan block structure involving the celestial stress tensor and its logarithmic partner, a composite operator built from the stress tensor and the Liouville field.

High‐Entropy Perovskite Nanofibers for Bifunctional Air Electrodes in Reversible Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy perovskite nanofibers serve as robust and active bifunctional air electrodes in reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells. Their compositional complexity stabilizes the lattice, enriches oxygen vacancies, and accelerates surface exchange.

Sewing conformal field theories II

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1988
We show that any Riemann surface M with punctures can be constructed by sewing three-punctured speres. Correspondingly, any correlation function on M can be obtained by sewing three-point functions on a sphere. There is no unique way of sewing three-punctured spheres to construct M, and the resulting correlation functions may depend on the precise way ...

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...
