A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

Conformal mapping and impedance tomography

open access: yesInverse Problems, 2010
Akduman and Kress (2002 Inverse Problems 18 1659–1672), Haddar and Kress (2005 Inverse Problems 21 935–953), and Kress (2004 Math. Comput. Simul. 66 255–265) have employed a conformal mapping technique for the inverse problem to recover a perfectly conducting or a non-conducting inclusion in a homogeneous background medium from the Cauchy data on the ...

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

General f-harmonic morphisms

open access: yesArab Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2016
In this paper, we prove that a map between Riemannian manifolds is an f-harmonic morphism in a general sense if and only if it is horizontally weakly conformal, satisfying some conditions, and we investigate the properties of f-harmonic morphism in a ...

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

Virtual Mass of Any Shape of Body by using General Mapping Function

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
When an object is moving in acceleration with fluid interaction from surrounding, it possesses virtual mass (added mass) in which the total mass of object is higher than the original mass.

Optimization Of Conformal Cartographic Projections For The Slovak Republic According To Chebyshev’s Theorem

open access: yesSlovak Journal of Civil Engineering, 2015
Disadvantages of the currently used Křovák’s map projection in the Slovak Republic, such as large scale distortion, became evident after the division of Czechoslovakia.

Evaluation and modification of tumor cell isolation techniques from malignant effusions for rapid drug sensitivity testing

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐small cell lung cancer targeted treatment is limited to a few known genetic alterations, with few alternatives in advanced treatment lines. To direct treatment decisions by drug sensitivity testing (DST), this study compared several methods for tumor cell isolation from malignant effusions, pointing to repeated CD45+ cell depletion for effective ...

The convexity package for Hamiltonian actions on conformal symplectic manifolds

open access: yes, 2019
Consider a Hamiltonian action of a compact connected Lie group on a conformal symplectic manifold. We prove a convexity theorem for the moment map under the assumption that the action is of Lee type, which establishes an analog of Kirwan's convexity ...

Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...
