Conformal and quasi-conformal mappings
2016In this short section we shall introduce a class of mappings in \(\mathbb{C} \;\mathrm{and}\; \mathbb{B}\) named after the German mathematician AUGUST FERDINAND MOBIUS (1790–1868). In \(\it C l(n)\) this is also possible, but it is a bit more difficult, the reader is referred to our book [118].

Abstract This chapter concerns angle-preserving mappings between regions in the complex plane. As we shall see, every holomorphic function whose derivative is non-zero defines such a mapping. These mappings are of intrinsic geometric interest and of importance in advanced complex analysis (Chapter 16 hints at this).
