The Motion of a Point Vortex in Multiply-Connected Polygonal Domains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We study the motion of a single point vortex in simply- and multiply-connected polygonal domains. In the case of multiply-connected domains, the polygonal obstacles can be viewed as the cross-sections of 3D polygonal cylinders.

Constrained conformal/quasi-conformal map and its applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
With the rapid development of 3D-capture and modeling technologies, a vast number of 3D surface models have been created. More analysis needs to be done on these models, especially for the data from some subjects such as medical imaging.

Quasiconformal space mappings: a collection of surveys, 1960–1990 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This volume is a collection of surveys on function theory in euclidean n-dimensional spaces centered around the theme of quasiconformal space mappings. These surveys cover or are related to several topics including inequalities for conformal invariants ...

Schwarz-Christoffel accessory parameter for quadrilaterals via isomonodromy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We develop the recent proposal by the authors to exploit the isomonodromic tau function defined by Jimbo, Miwa and Ueno (JMU) to solve the accessory parameter problem in conformal mapping theory.

Fixed equilibria of point vortices in symmetric multiply connected domains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The paper provides with symmetric fixed configurations of point vortices in multiply connected domains in the unit circle with many circular obstacles. When the circular domain is invariant with respect to the rotation around the origin by the degree of ...

Approximation of sgn(x) on Two Symmetric Intervals by Rational Functions with Fixed Poles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Recently, A. Eremenko and P. Yuditskii found explicit solutions of the best polynomial approximation problems of sgn(x) over two intervals in terms of conformal mappings onto special comb domains.

A Technique for Solving the Singular Integral Equations of Potential Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The singular integral equations of Potential Theory are investigated using ideas from both classical and contemporary mathematics. The goal of this semi-analytic approach is to produce numerical schemes that are both general and computationally simple ...

Biharmonic maps and morphisms from conformal mappings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Inspired by the all-important conformal invariance of harmonic maps on two-dimensional domains, this article studies the relationship between biharmonicity and conformality.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
