Non-invertible T-duality at any radius via non-compact SymTFT

open access: yesSciPost Physics
We extend the construction of the T-duality symmetry for the 2d compact boson to arbitrary values of the radius by including topological manipulations such as gauging continuous symmetries with flat connections.

Determination of Basic Dynamic Vibration Frequency at Trapezoid Plates Using Conformal Radius Ratio Interpolation Technique

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2017
Abstract The article reviews the dynamic vibration of elastic isotropic trapezoidal plates. It suggests using form factor interpolation technique to determine the value of basic frequency plate; and the ratio of inner conformal radius to the outer one as a new geometric argument is proposed to be used instead of the form factor.

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Subleading eikonal, AdS/CFT and double stress tensors

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
The eikonal phase which determines the Regge limit of the gravitational scat- tering amplitude of a light particle off a heavy one in Minkowski spacetimes admits an expansion in the ratio of the Schwarzschild radius of the heavy particle to the impact ...

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Universal thermalization dynamics in (1+1)d QFTs

open access: yesSciPost Physics
We identify the universal mechanism behind the thermalization of (1+1)d QFTs at high and low temperatures. Viewing these theories as CFTs perturbed by relevant or irrelevant deformations, we show that conformal perturbation theory in the thermal state ...

Quantum gravity in three dimensions, Witten spinors and the quantisation of length

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2018
In this paper, I investigate the quantisation of length in euclidean quantum gravity in three dimensions. The starting point is the classical hamiltonian formalism in a cylinder of finite radius. At this finite boundary, a counter term is introduced that

Nanolayer‐Encapsulated Stretchable Liquid‐Metal Sheets for Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A stretchable liquid metal sheet with both high thermal conductivity and mechanical flexibility is developed. Its trilayer structure, comprising copper‐particle‐dispersed gallium liquid metal encapsulated by styrene‐butadiene‐styrene nanosheets, shows 40.4 W m−1 K−1 conductivity, elongation exceeding 200%, and retention of 96% of its initial ...

Mechanoregulatory Effects of Cell‐Scale Microwells on Epithelial Cell Phenotype

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In small polycaprolactone microwells, A549 epithelial cells span well edges, in contrast to cells growing on flat substrates. Focal adhesion sites (yellow) concentrate at topographic boundaries, while cytoskeletal tension (magenta stress fibers) is transmitted to the nucleus (blue), reducing nuclear sphericity.
