Variable Radius Conformal Cooling Channel for Rapid Tool

Materials Science Forum, 2006
The cooling system of a plastic injection mould is important as it affects the quality and productivity of the polymeric components or assemblies. Contemporary cooling channel design is confined to simple configurations of straight-drilled coolant passageway around the mould insert.

The conformal radius as a function and its gradient image

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 2005
The authors give characterizations of convex sets or domains in \(\overline{\mathbb{C}}\) in terms of their conformal/hyperbolic radius \(R\) and in terms of their mappings by the gradient function \(\nabla{R}\). They use the complex-valued mapping \(\nabla{R}(\cdot, \Omega)\,:\, \Omega \longrightarrow \overline{\mathbb C}\) to give a unified proof and

About the Gradient of the Conformal Radius

2012
Let D be a simply connected domain in \(\overline{\mathbb{C}}\) and R(D, z) the conformal radius of D at the point \(z \in D/ \{\infty\}\)We discuss the function \(\nabla R(D,z)\) In particular, we prove that \(\nabla R(D,z)\) is a quasi-conformal mapping of D for different types of domains.

Cylindrical conformal bow‐tie microstrip antennas with small curvature radius

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2003
AbstractIn this paper, bow‐tie microstrip antennas (BMAs) conformal to cylinders with small radii are studied. One‐element BMA and two‐element BMA arrays, conformal to cylinders with small radii and finite length, are simulated and measured. Theoretical results are compared with experimental ones, showing good agreement.

TTC patch antennas made in a conformal form with small radius

2006 First European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 2006
Telemetry, teleranging and telecommand (TTC) communication is essential to maintain space missions. Antennas for TTC applications must feature wide - or even omnidirectional - radiation properties. In this paper we present results of our investigations on small size cylindrical arrays which can ensure such radiation properties.
