COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ROPIVACAINE VERSUS ROPIVACAINE WITH CLONIDINE FOR CAUDAL ANALGESIA IN PAEDIATRIC AGE GROUP AMONG LOWER ABDOMINAL AND LOWER LIMB SURGERY

open access: yesNational Journal of Medical Research, 2017
Introduction: Clonidine, an a2 adrenergic agonist, prolongs analgesia without significant respiratory depression. The analgesic action of epidurally-administered clonidine is due to stimulation of descending noradrenergic medullospinal pathways ...

Genetic and Pharmacologic Inhibition of Myostatin Restores Muscle Mass in a Dynamin 2‐Related Centronuclear Myopathy Mouse Model

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Autosomal dominant centronuclear myopathy (ADCNM), most commonly caused by mutations in the dynamin 2 (DNM2) gene, is a rare congenital myopathy characterized by progressive muscle weakness and atrophy. Myostatin, a key negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass, has shown therapeutic potential in several models of neuromuscular ...

Clinical Characteristics and Timing of Accessory Pathway Reconduction During Catheter Ablation of Accessory Pathways

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
Intra‐procedural accessory pathway reconduction occurred in 18% of patients, with 65.2% of events detected ≥ 15 min after initial pathway elimination. Reconduction was associated with a higher rate of late recurrence, supporting careful assessment for conduction recovery during the post‐ablation waiting period.

Impact of oxytocin discontinuation on fetal heart rate and uterine contractility: A pre‐specified ancillary analysis embedded within a randomized trial

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 10, Page 1985-1993, October 2026.
The impact of oxytocin discontinuation at the onset of the active phase of labor on fetal heart rate (FHR) patterns and uterine activity; One hour following discontinuation, the mean FHR baseline slightly increased, FHR patterns improved—particularly with reduced decelerations and improved variability—and uterine activity decreased. Moreover, among the
