Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA), also called hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type IV (HSAN-IV), is an extremely rare autosomal recessive disease. It is characterized by insensitivity to pain, inability to sweat, episodes of hyperpyrexia, and intellectual disability.
