Production of bacterial cellulose by Acetobacter okinawensis AC2 and its application as a bioadsorbent for azo dye removal

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 1596-1608, May/June 2026.
Abstract Bacterial cellulose (BC) is a naturally occurring polysaccharide that has attracted considerable interest in various fields, including biological and biomedical applications, due to its biodegradability, biocompatibility, high degree of crystallinity, and outstanding physicochemical characteristics. It is widely used in several industries such

Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP): A Comprehensive Review of Types, Pathophysiology, and Treatment Approaches

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is an autoimmune disorder causing demyelination, leading to distal weakness, sensory loss, and autonomic dysfunction. Immune activation triggers macrophage‐mediated myelin damage and conduction failure.

PLA2R‐Positive Membranous Nephropathy and AA Amyloidosis in an Ethiopian Patient With Chronic Hepatitis B: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The coexistence of primary phospholipase A2 receptor positive membranous nephropathy and AA amyloidosis in a patient with chronic hepatitis B is an exceedingly rare triad presenting a profound diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. A 38‐year‐old Ethiopian man with nephrotic syndrome and chronic hepatitis B had dual pathology on renal biopsy ...

Beyond the Solid Solution: Ordered Enantiomerically Unbalanced Packing in Surface‐Confined Tetrahelicene Monolayers

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 5, May 2026.
Racemic dicyanotetrahelicene exhibits coverage‐dependent self‐assembly on Ag(111), transitioning from spontaneous chiral resolution at low coverage to a dense mixed phase at monolayer saturation. While submonolayer deposition produces extended homochiral domains, full coverage yields a compact, long‐range ordered lattice with an enantiomerically ...

Kinetics, Thermodynamics, and Mechanistic Understanding of Adsorptive Removal of Congo Red Using Oxidized Carbon Nanoplatelets

open access: yesCLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, Volume 54, Issue 5, May 2026.
Thermodynamic analysis is used to investigate the adsorption of anionic Congo red dye from aqueous solution using non‐composited oxidised carbon nanoplatelets (OCNPs). OCNPs maintain high decontamination efficiency (>96% CR removal) under acidic and basic conditions.
