The importance of differentiation for organizational ambidexterity

open access: yesAnnals of Business Administrative Science
Several companies aspire to organizational ambidexterity; however, achieving it requires overcoming certain hurdles. With regard to simultaneous or structural ambidexterity, which large companies tend to adopt, the challenges associated with of ...

Congruences for Stochastic Automata

open access: yesCoRR, 2020
Congruences for stochastic automata are defined, the correspondin factor automata are constructed and investigated for automata ove analytic spaces. We study the behavior under finite and infinite streams. Congruences consist of multiple parts, it is shown that factoring can be done in multiple steps, guided by these parts.

Transposable Element–Driven PIEZO Mutation Enhances Locust Flight in Plateau Hypoxia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Why transposable elements (TEs) persisted or expanded in genomes remains a mystery. Using integrated analysis of TE macro‐ and microevolution in locusts, our results showed that thousands of TE insertions promoted widespread adaptive variation. Subfamilies of candidate adaptive TEs amplified and reshaped species‐level genomic architecture.

Ideological Congruence and Citizen Satisfaction: Evidence from 25 Advanced Democracies

open access: yes, 2017
Ideological congruence is an important and popular measure of the quality of political representation. The closer the match between the preferences of the public and those of elected elites, the better representative democracy is thought to function ...

A Rigid–Foldable Kirigami‐Inspired Metamorphic Mechanism With Programmable Motion Modes and Self‐Locking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Geometric constraint reconfiguration enables a rigid–foldable kirigami‐inspired mechanism to switch between twisting, directional translation, and self‐locking states. By encoding multifunctionality directly into its architecture, the mechanism achieves multimodal motion and passive locking without reassembly, providing a compact platform for adaptive ...

Some Identities Involving Fubini Polynomials

open access: yesMathematics
Using Hoppe’s formula, we derive two identities that relate the powers and derivatives of the generating function for Fubini polynomials. As applications, we obtain several identities involving Fubini polynomials, including identities for Sums of ...

From Devices to Systems: Integration Strategies for Micro‐Supercapacitors in Microsystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micro‐supercapacitors are evolving from device‐level energy storage toward system‐level functional units in integrated microsystems. This Review presents a system‐oriented design framework in which integration serves as the key link between application requirements, system constraints, device architectures, and material selection. Monolithic and hybrid

Ionic Liquid Electrolytes for Extreme Temperature Conditions: Challenges and Perspective

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Ionic liquids (ILs) have gained great attention as safe electrolyte components in recent years. This review elucidates the temperature effects on IL‐based electrolytes from molecular configurations, physicochemical properties, and interfacial chemistry, raises the challenges and design strategies operating at low‐ and HT, providing valuable guidance ...

Dimple‐Encoded Reprogrammable Origami

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Local snap‐through of bistable dimples turns flat elastic sheets into reprogrammable origami structures. Interaction‐guided dimple arrays act as angle‐programmable hinge bands, enabling one sheet to morph into distinct polygonal and three‐dimensional configurations while retaining stable shapes for deployable and protective functions.
