Objective We evaluated the ability of the Renal Activity Index for Lupus (RAIL) to discriminate active lupus nephritis (LN) in adult patients with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and differentiate LN treatment response. Methods Urine samples from adults with biopsy‐proven active class III and IV LN from TULIP‐LN (active LN group ...

Objective The objective of this study was to describe the longitudinal disease course and pulmonary outcomes of North American patients with melanoma differentiation–associated protein 5 (MDA5) antibody–associated dermatomyositis (DM). Methods Thirty patients with MDA5 antibody–associated DM were identified in a single‐center longitudinal cohort of 352

Following the notions of Ω-set and Ω-algebra where Ω is a complete lattice, we introduce P-algebras, replacing the lattice Ω by a poset P. A P-algebra is a classical algebraic structure in which the usual equality is replaced by a P-valued equivalence ...

Congruences and group congruences on a semigroup [PDF]
Let \(S\) be a semigroup and \(E\) be the set of idempotents of \(S\). A subsemigroup \(N\) of \(S\) is called normal if it is full (i.e., \(E\subseteq S\)), dense (i.e., \((\forall s\in S)(\exists x,y\in S)(sx,ys\in N)\)), reflexive (i.e., \((\forall a,b\in S)(ab\in N\Rightarrow ba\in N)\)) and closed in \(S\) (i.e., \(N\omega=N\), where \(N\omega=\{s\

Objective This study aimed to characterize cannabis product choices (cannabinoid content and formulation) among rheumatology patients, and their associations with patient factors, patient reported perceived side effects and positive impacts. Methods An online survey (delivered from March to November 2022) was distributed by Alberta Health Services to ...

Congruences for Fishburn numbers modulo prime powers
The Fishburn numbers $\xi (n)$ are defined by the formal power series \[ \sum_{n \geq 0} \xi (n) q^n = \sum_{n \geq 0} \prod_{j = 1}^n (1 - (1 - q)^j). \] Recently, G. Andrews and J.

Objective Studies of damage accrual in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) show associations with disease activity measured by the SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI‐2K), but these associations are imperfect. SLEDAI scores are powerfully influenced by weightings (1‐8) assigned to each domain.

A note on finite lattices with many congruences [PDF]
By a twenty year old result of Ralph Freese, an $n$-element lattice $L$ has at most $2^{n-1}$ congruences. We prove that if $L$ has less than $2^{n-1}$ congruences, then it has at most $2^{n-2}$ congruences.

Proofs of Some Conjectures of Chan on Appell-Lerch Sums
On page 3 of his lost notebook, Ramanujan defines the Appell-Lerch sum $$\phi(q):=\sum_{n=0}^\infty \dfrac{(-q;q)_{2n}q^{n+1}}{(q;q^2)_{n+1}^2},$$ which is connected to some of his sixth order mock theta functions. Let $\sum_{n=1}^\infty a(n)q^n:=\phi(q)$
