A DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT FOR TEACHING THE CONIC SECTIONS

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper presenting a dynamic environment designed for teaching of conic sections will be taken. The environment is a web page where the student, guided by the teacher, building their knowledge through exploration of digital objects constructed with

A Point-Theory of Morphogenesis

open access: yesMathematics
Building on earlier work with generalised conic sections, we use the superformula to introduce ultra-flexibility instead of rigidity as encoded in the geometry of Euclid and Descartes.

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

Perturbation Methods in Solving the Problem of Two Bodies of Variable Masses with Application of Computer Algebra

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The classical many-body problem is not integrable, so perturbation theory based on an exact solution to the two-body problem is usually applied to investigate the dynamics of planetary systems.

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

Injectable Dual‐Network Hydrogel System for Osteochondral Repair Combining Immunomodulation, Mechanical Adaptability, and Enhanced Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A UV‐triggered injectable dual‐network hydrogel is reported as the first application of bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) in osteochondral repair. By integrating methacrylamide‐modified BSP and nitrobenzaldehyde‐functionalized hyaluronic acid, the system achieves immunomodulation, mechanical reinforcement, and dynamic tissue adhesion, thereby ...

Micro and Nanostructural Diversity of Lizard Osteoderm Capping Tissue in Relation to Mechanical Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that lizard osteoderm capping tissue is a hyper‐mineralized hydroxyapatite layer consistently covering the superficial osteoderm surface in those species studied here, yet it varies greatly in morphology, nanostructure, and mechanical performance across species.

Does any convex quadrilateral have circumscribed ellipses?

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2017
The past decades have witnessed several well-known beautiful conclusions on four con-cyclic points. With highly promising research value, we profoundly studied circumscribed ellipses of convex quadrilaterals in this paper.
