Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Conic sections in ferroelectric nematics: Experiments and mathematical modeling
The domain structure of a fluid ferroelectric nematic is dramatically different from the domain structure of solid ferroelectrics since it is not restricted by rectilinear crystallographic axes and planar surface facets. We demonstrate that thin films of

Scrutinizing the General Conic Equation
We present a general formula that transforms any conic of the form Ax2+Bxy+Cy2+Dx+Ey+F=0, with B≠0, into A′(x′)2+C′(y′)2+D′x′+E′y′+F=0, without requiring the rotation angle θ.

Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

Experimental Study on the Effects of Artificial Bed Roughness on Hydraulic Parameters of Saline Density Currents [PDF]
Turbidity currents are often the main process for the transport and deposition of the sediments in narrow, alpine reservoirs. In this research, 63 experiments were performed to investigate artificial bed roughness effects on the saline density currents ...

ON EVALUATION OF THE THREE-DIMENSIONAL ISOGEOMETRIC BEAM ELEMENT
The exact description of the arbitrarily curved geometries, including conic sections, is an undeniable advantage of isogeometric analysis (IGA) over standard finite element method (FEM).

Kepler’s Laws and Conic Sections [PDF]
The Kepler's law reads as second order ODE \(\ddot{\pmb{\text{r}}} = -k |\pmb{\text{r}}|^{-3} \pmb{\text{r}}\), where \(\pmb{\text{r}}=(x,y)\) is the position of a planet \(P\) in the \(Oxy\)-plane and \(k\) is a coefficient of proportionality in the Newton law \(F=ma\). The author lifts \(P\) on the cone \(r^2=x^2+y^2\) and represents the lifted point

Exploring Curvature Effects in Direct‐Written 3D Curved Hollow Magnetic Nanoshells
Fabricated by a hybrid FEBID/CVD method, 3D PtC/Co3Fe core–shell heterostructures with engineered curvature and shell thickness exhibit complex reversal modes with axially symmetric N'eel‐type domain walls. XMCD‐PEEM combined with full‐scale micromagnetic simulations reveal how curvature and thickness govern the domain wall energy landscape and shape ...
