Blunting of conical tips by surface diffusion [PDF]
We study the evolution of an initially conical metal surface when it is heated. For all cone angles α from close to zero to 90 degrees, self-similar solutions with rounded tips are found, whose radius of curvature scales like (time)(1/4). For α>/~3°, theoretical profiles agree very well with experiment.

A sharp $$L^p-L^q$$Lp-Lq-Fourier restriction theorem for a conical surface of finite type [PDF]
In this paper, we study the Fourier restriction problem for certain conical surfaces where the sections are curves of finite type. We obtain the sharp $$L^p-L^q$$Lp-Lq-range for this surfaces.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

The classical motion at a conical surface is bounded at one (narrower) side of the cone and unbounded at the other. However, it is shown here that a dielectric cone with a small half-angle gamma can perform as a high Q-factor optical microresonator which

Notes on Entanglement Entropy in String Theory [PDF]
In this paper, we study the entanglement entropy in string theory in the simplest setup of dividing the nine dimensional space into two halves. This corresponds to the leading quantum correction to the horizon entropy in string theory on the Rindler ...

Quartic surfaces with 16 skew conics.
For an integer \(d \geq 1\) let \(N_4 (d)\) be the maximal number of smooth rational curves of degree \(d\) that can lie on a smooth quartic surface in \(\mathbb{P}_3\). By classical results of Schur and Segre one has \(N_4 (1) = 64\). Up to now the numbers \(N_4 (d)\), \(d \geq 2\), seem to be unknown.
