Radular morphology ofConus(Gastropoda: Caenogastropoda: Conidae) from India

Radular morphologies of 22 species of the genus Conus from Indian coastal waters were analyzed by optical and scanning electron microscopy. Although the majority of species in the present study are vermivorous, all three feeding modes known to occur in the genus are represented.

The venoms of Conus chaldeus, C. ebraeus, C. miliaris, C. flavidus and C. lividus were injected into the polychaete Palola siciliensis, which had been shown by gut content analyses to be a major prey species of only the first three species of Conus.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Conus tulipa (Neogastropoda: Conidae)

The complete mitogenome sequence of the cone snail Conus tulipa (Linnaeus, 1758) has been sequenced by next-generation sequencing method. The assembled mitogenome is 16,599 bp in length, including 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes and 2 ribosomal RNA genes. The overall base composition of C. tulipa is 28.7% A, 15.2% C, 18.4% G and 37.7% T.
